Painting Outdoors
Renato Sniecikoski and Claudio Hampf. Outskirts of the Curitiba City, south of Brazil. Typical trees of the region, Araucaria Angustifolia.
One Sunday morning, sunny, in a rural area known as Village Marquetto.
Painting material hastily prepared, the hours passing, we left with destination set, me and Claudio, toward the field.
The site is a small farm, planting a soybean field. I would describe it as an “adventure- painting”, or at least “a little adventure,” walking in tall grass, walking and getting Sun.
Although not a place with broad views, has been very productive to practice painting trees, especially the Parana pine (Araucaria Brasiliense), very common in southern Brazil.
This site is very close to the chapel in the village.
I opted for more muted tones, earthy colors, a limited palette, and with the corners defined only in the main object.
Claudio opted for a painting with more contrasts which gave good results, emphasizing the sunny moment.
